Sam and Gilly have arrived safely at the wall after their chance encounter with Brandon Stark.

Castle Black has completely changed since Sam was last here, as Stannis has taken up residence after defeating the wildling army.

Sam has come up with a plot to send Gilly south with her baby to be cared for and raised with the Tarly family.

Jon has still been labeled as a traitor by Alliser Thorne and Janos Slynt, as they work together to land Janos the job of Lord Commander.

Sam comes up with a plan to get one of the two frontrunners in the election to withdraw and support the other.
