Welcome to the Green Stock News brief for Tuesday July 15th. Here are today’s top headlines:
MP Materials (NYSE: MP) has signed a $500 Million agreement to supply Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) with rare earth magnets made entirely from recycled materials. To support this effort, MP will expand its Fort Worth plant and build a dedicated recycling line at Mountain Pass, with magnet shipments expected to begin in 2027 and eventually support hundreds of millions of Apple devices.
Brookfield Renewable (NYSE: BEP) and Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) have signed a first-of-its-kind Hydro Framework Agreement to deliver up to 3,000 MW of carbon-free hydroelectric power across the U.S. The initial contracts, covering $3 billion worth of power from Pennsylvania’s Holtwood and Safe Harbor facilities, support Google’s 24/7 carbon-free energy goal and Brookfield’s strategy to provide flexible clean energy to the tech sector.
Fluence Energy (NASDAQ: FLNC) has partnered with VERBUND to develop over 92 MW and 186 MWh of large-scale battery storage systems in Germany, aimed at improving grid stability and supporting renewable energy integration. This collaboration advances VERBUND’s goal of reaching 1 GW of storage capacity by 2030 and strengthens its role in balancing electricity fluctuations caused by wind and solar expansion.
Eco Wave Power Global (NASDAQ: WAVE) has completed production of all floaters for its first U.S. wave energy project at the Port of Los Angeles, marking a major milestone for the country's first onshore wave energy pilot station. Manufactured by California-based All-Ways Metal, the floaters will soon be installed on an existing jetty to generate clean electricity using Eco Wave Power’s patented, low-maintenance onshore technology.
