Mark chapter 11 begins with Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem, where crowds welcome Him as a king by laying down palm branches. He then curses a barren fig tree, symbolizing judgment on unfruitful Israel. At the temple, Jesus drives out the money changers, declaring it a house of prayer that had been turned into a den of thieves. The withered fig tree later becomes a lesson about faith, prayer, and forgiveness. The chapter ends with the religious leaders challenging Jesus' authority, which He counters with a question about John the Baptist, exposing their hypocrisy.
