From Host Barbara
I’m very happy to introduce Darragh Mason to you: he’s an award-winning photographer, author and podcaster with a deep interest in folklore and otherworldly beings. I first found him by way of his podcast The Spirit Box, where he had some really interesting guests. The first episode I listened to was Episode 28: Jerry Marzinsky, Schizophrenia and Parasitic Entities, and I found it so fascinating that I started tuning in regularly.
Last year, his first book was published: Song of the Dark Man: Father of Witches, Lord of the Crossroads, and of course, I snatched it right up. Being as I have an affinity with another being who is known for frequenting crossroads, Hecate, I expected to really like the book. What I wasn’t prepared for was the poetic beauty of the prose and the experiences described by modern Witches that were congruent with my own.
I hope you enjoy listening in on our little visit, and after you listen, you should check out Darragh’s photo essays on his website, especially the one titled City of Djinn.
