Denise Stryker joins us after a 2-month retirement (from a 30 year career) to discuss homelessness in Wilmington along with the new director of the Clinton County Homeless Shelter, Amber Taylor (who was previously the assistant director for 18 years). It was such an honor to talk with these amazingly compassionate and strong women who serve the diverse needs of people in our community. We also discuss the current conversations around homelessness happening at city council—this is a must listen episode!

Special thanks to our sponsor, Fiesta Veracruz, for helping keep our podcast, newspaper, and other resources free to our community. Fiesta Veracruz is a locally owned Mexican restaurant located at 37 W Locust Street in downtown Wilmington across from the City Building. Fiesta Veracruz does so many great things to support our community, so please check out Fiesta Veracruz for great deals on lunch specials and drinks during happy hour.
