Manage episode 453677600 series 3621207
Detroit-based husband and wife duo, Greater Alexander and Karianne Spens-Hanna, blend their passions for art, music, and healing to create meaningful, interconnected experiences. Greater Alexander, a singer/songwriter, born in New York, raised in Greece, found his home in greater Detroit Michigan, creates indie-world folk inspired music by using natural reverb from around Detroit to “color” the music. With a mix of classical guitar, global percussion, a powerful falsetto, as well as other instruments, Greater Alexander highlights the Greater parts of himself with his signature sound. His journey-driven music is fueled by love and a drive to spread positivity.
Karianne, an artist, singer/songwriter, and art therapist, explores the bonds between humanity, nature, and life’s chaos. Her intuitive, meditative art and music are rooted in her background in psychology, ecology, and art therapy. A College for Creative Studies and Wayne State University graduate, she works with men in recovery, LGBTQ+ youth, and provides equine-assisted therapy at Therapy Ranch. Together, they use their talents to uplift and connect with others through creativity and healing.
This episode we’ll chat about The Acoustic Guitar Project initiative they created bringing local songwriters together.
And rumor has it; they will do a live performance of a new unreleased song.
