House Majority Whip Rep. Tom Emmer (R-MN) joined The Guy Benson Show today following the end of the Schumer Shutdown, the longest in U.S. history at 43 days. Emmer explained why Democrats ultimately "got nothing" in exchange for caving on the shutdown that inflicted needless pain on everyday Americans. Whip Emmer also discussed the ongoing challenges in passing appropriations bills, saying House Republicans are determined to finish the job before the end of December. Emmer weighed in on the Obamacare subsidies Democrats fought to extend by shutting down the government, and Emmer said that it is now on Republicans to fix the Democrats' "unaffordable care act." Finally, Emmer shared his thoughts on the Minneapolis mayoral race, as he says both leading candidates on the Democratic side will be bad for the city. Listen to the full interview below!
