A few weeks ago, Governor Beshear "found" $9 million in order to shore up a funding shortfall in the senior meals program.
The administration blamed the Trump administration for the sudden deficit, but in a legislative hearing, the Beshear administration admitted that they had projected the shortfall months earlier and hadn’t bothered addressing it. Instead, they expanded the program.
In the same legislative hearing, the chair requested some financial documents from Beshear's budget director, and he refused to turn them over. This prompted a fiery response from Rep. Petrie.
Also, FCPS continues to dominate headlines as it faces four major looming issues related to budgeting, union fights, eminent domain, and proposed policies that attack free speech.
