As a Christian, the best thing you can do is respect God and heed His mandates. When you obey God's ordinances, you get three things: length of days, long life, and peace. To reverence God and His Word is the most morally pure thing you can do. “The laws of God are correct and obedience causes rejoicing and enlightenment” (Ps 19:8). God’s ordinances provide warnings and unlimited blessings while you are living in the devil’s world. Being obedient is how you demonstrate you love God. “Whoever says, ‘I love God’ and is not obedient is a liar and the truth is not in him” (1 John 2:4). You can misdirect your love, which is very easy to do when you get occupied with the wrong things.
