In this episode, Ladey Adey talks with Jane Pidcock.
Jane talks us through her fascinating story of starting her own candle business. Whilst working her day job as a Residential Care Home Manager, a candle-making activity during lockdown developed into a business.
Clapperboard Candles brings books and films to life through scents associated with them. Jane can get you transported to a specific scene or moment from them with the wonderful fragrances of her candles.
Memories and smells are often linked to older memories that we have in the back of our subconsciousness. When we smell something we can be
instantly transported to that moment in time.
Jane's favourite scent, believe it or not, is Imperial Leather soap.
This takes her straight back to being a child in her Grandma’s bungalow, Jane used to think her grandma was very rich being able to have a soap with a gold label.
Favourite quote - "10 things I hate about you, but mostly I hate I don't hate you at all. Not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all" - 10 Things I Hate About You.
