✨This was such a delightful dialogue with Helen, I appreciate the levity & smiles that can be present when discussing grief & death. Dr. Helen Stickney has a PHD in linguistics, she is a meditation instructor and death doula specializing in contemplative approaches to mortality and grief.
✨ During this episode Helen talks about her philosophy of supporting people through grief & death.
✨Helen shares a deeply personal story about her spiritual and scientific upbringing, and how that has shaped her life journey. She discusses her struggles with reconciling different worldviews, her journey of self-discovery, and her career challenges as a single mother and PhD student.
✨ Helen offers her stories of reconnecting with her feminine self and finding her calling to work with dying individuals. She reminds us of the importance of following one's truth
✨ We discuss Helen’s professional experience in helping individuals find closure and heal from their losses, as well as the importance of contemplating mortality. The conversation ended with a conversation on our respective approaches to supporting individuals through grief, end of life experiences, and the integration of personal practices into our professional work.
