The chairperson of the GAA's Central Competitions Control Committee, Brian Carroll has said that had the Sligo venue been available that game would have been played Markievicz Park.
Sligo-Strandhill Councillor Fergal Nealon says that unfortunately business community in Sligo has missed out on a financial bonanza.
The Fine Gael Councillor says every support should be given to the Sligo County Board to ensure future big championship games can be played locally.
