The saying goes, “There can only be one.” There will only be one Highlander movie we cover, and Aaron Neuwirth is here to help! There’s so much Highlander out there — five movies and six seasons of a TV show, plus a rumored reboot — and we all share what little we know of the franchise.
We sort out: what is a Highlander, exactly? We admire the truly wild arrival of Sean Connery (as a man named Ramirez, from Egypt, naturally) and the movie’s steadfast refusal to explain its own plot or mythology.
We make our picks for the film’s most 80s moments. Aaron shows off how much he knows about Clancy Brown’s filmography. We talk about how Highlander’s ending shows off big Madame Web energy. Joey debuts a new game.
