Her young students inspired her to write stories to help them understand kindness, forgiveness, empathy, and friendship. Her published works include Seeds of Sunshine, and Sunshine Makes a Difference (2024), with two more books under contract: Lennys Team and Crabby Abby the Decorator. Ellen and her husband Andy have five adult children, three grandchildren, and a little white dog named Chip.
