What Do We Need to Remember? What Do We Need to Learn?

“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit…will teach you everything and remind you of all that I have said to you.” - from John 14:26

The Holy Spirit teaches us. The Holy Spirit reminds us. What do we need to remember? What do we need to learn?

While that is a long list for most of us, there is a foundational truth that most of us need to be reminded of: “God created humanity in God’s own image, in the image of God, God created them; male and female God created them.” - Genesis 1:27

We need to remember that everyone we encounter bears the image of God imprinted in their being. Regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or nationality, regardless of social class or economic status, we are all reflection of God.

This being the case, our challenge is letting the Holy Spirit teach us how to see this in ourselves and in each other. Our bigger challenge is allowing the Holy Spirit to teach us how to see this in every each other and not just some.

We pray that the Spirit of God living in us reveals the image of God imprinted on all of us.
