Diabetes is on the rise, so is gangrene, and and so are lower extremity amputations. Why is this?Elevated blood sugar is NOT diabetes. Diabetes is the disease — and AS A RESULT of the disease — the blood sugar elevates. Insulin resistance is a contributing factor. What can you do about this besides taking medications that are leading to more amputations?There ARE other things you can do besides taking a drug to lower your blood sugar. Again, elevated blood sugar is NOT diabetes — it is a SYMPTOM of diabetes. If you’re just treating the symptom and not the problem, don’t be surprised if you don’t get the results you would like. You CAN live a higher quality of life. Just get educated.
