×This is Ken Ham, a contributor to the creation apologetics series The New Answers Books . Many Christians believe they can add millions of years into the Bible. And usually it’s the days of creation that get stretched out to be millions of years long each. But when God gave the Sabbath commandment in Exodus it says, “for in six days the Lord made” everything. God commanded the Israelites to work for six days, and rest for one day. This copies the pattern God established during creation week. If God didn’t create in six days and rest for one, then this command was meaningless. Should we work for millions of years and then rest for a million years? Of course not! You can’t fit millions of years into Genesis! Dig Deeper Why Is a Week Seven Days? Did Jesus Say He Created in Six Literal Days?…
This is Ken Ham, inviting you to learn more about God’s Word at the Creation Museum . Many Christians think Scripture doesn’t say anything about the age of the earth so it could be millions of years old. Now, Scripture doesn’t give us an exact age or it’d be outdated every year! But it does make it clear earth isn’t millions of years old. You see, Genesis one tells us God created everything in six days. Some people try and squeeze millions of years into these days, but the context shows they were ordinary days. In the Old Testament, whenever “day” is used with “evening,” “morning” or a number it always means an ordinary day. Genesis one uses all of these! You simply can’t fit millions of years into Genesis. Dig Deeper Six Literal Days What a Difference a Day Makes!…
This is Ken Ham, inviting you to visit the world-class Ark Encounter in Northern Kentucky. Our world is groaning. Suffering, disease, and natural disasters constantly capture the headlines and intrude into our own lives. And it makes people wonder, “why? Why is there so much death and suffering in our world?” Well, the answers are in Genesis. God created a perfect world but then we sinned. Our sin broke creation, it was no longer “very good.” It’s our sin that brought death, suffering, and disease into the world. But it’s not all bad news. The good news is Jesus came and died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sin and someday he will return and make a new heavens and a new earth where death will be no more. Dig Deeper Why Does God’s Creation Include Death and Suffering? Are Things Getting Worse? (Or Is It Just Your Imagination?)…
This is Ken Ham, CEO of the ministry producing the family-friendly Answers Bible Curriculum . According to evolutionists earth isn’t special. It’s just one planet out of many where life happened to evolve. But evolutionists can’t seem to find all these other supposed earth-like planets, let alone any with life! The more we study, the more we learn that earth is special with just the right conditions for life. Of course, this is exactly what we’d expect starting with God’s Word. Earth was purposely formed for life. And it was to earth that God sent his Son, Jesus. The lack of earth-like planets isn’t a problem for us, but it’s a big problem for evolutionists who desperately need us to not be special. Dig Deeper Just Right for Life What Makes Earth So Unique?…
This is Ken Ham, inviting you and your family to come and visit the Ark Encounter . Some people mock the biblical teaching that there was no death before sin by saying things like “so Adam never stepped on an ant before the fall?” Well, Scripture teaches that originally God’s creation was “very good.” Death was the consequence for Adam’s sin. But what about accidental death before the fall? Well, the all-powerful God upholds the universe. And the God who kept the Israelites’ shoes from wearing out for forty years and protected the three Israelites from the fiery furnace, can certainly keep accidents from happening in a perfect world! We can absolutely trust the Bible’s teaching on death and sin. Dig Deeper Did Adam Step on an Ant Before the Fall? Death Is Not Good…
This is Ken Ham, an editor of the largest creation apologetics magazine, Answers . When it comes to our identity, the foundation is in Genesis and God creating us male and female. As our culture drifts further from God’s Word, we see the consequences. Men are now allowed in women’s private spaces, like restrooms, changerooms, and shelters. Male prisoners are being housed with women simply because they claim they’re women too. Men are winning women’s sports events and taking their scholarships. Children are being transitioned behind their parents’ back with lifelong medical consequences. Yes, it matters whether we start with God’s Word. And God’s Word is clear: male and female he created them. Dig Deeper Gender in our Culture—Cutting Through the Chaos Does Genesis 1:27 Mean That God Originally Created Adam with Both Genders?…

This is Ken Ham, head of the ministry behind the unique Answers VBS program. Biblical creationists like me believe that God created kinds—not species—of organisms with a huge amount of genetic variability built into their genes. After the global flood, as these kinds spread through the earth, they adapted to different environments, usually by losing information. What I’ve just described is natural selection. Now, a lot of people believe it’s the same thing as evolution. But according to evolutionary ideas, one kind changes into another kind. That requires a gain of information, but natural selection reduces information. Evolution and natural selection are actually opposites! Dig Deeper Is Natural Selection the Same Thing as Evolution? Kind, Species, and What’s in a Name?…
This is Ken Ham, author of the unique daily devotional Ken Ham Daily . There are some Christians who claim nature is an extra book of the Bible. But consider this: in Isaiah it says, “the Word of our God stands forever.” Nature will eventually pass away, but God’s Word will endure forever and ever. It alone is permanent and foundational for knowing truth. If we rely on nature or reinterpret God’s Word according to our interpretations of nature, we’re really just building on sinking sand. We need to be like the wise builder who chose to build his house on the rock. God’s Word provides an unchanging foundation for our thinking. We need to interpret nature through God’s Word. Dig Deeper Is Nature the 67th Book of the Bible? Only Two…
This is Ken Ham, author and speaker on science and the trustworthiness of God’s Word. As we learned yesterday, some Christians view nature on the same level as God’s Word, calling it the 67th book of the Bible. But can we look to nature as an objective source for God’s truth? No, we can’t. You see, when we study nature without the infallible history provided in the Bible we don’t have the proper framework for understanding history. Instead we’re looking to our own wisdom and man’s ideas about the past for truth. Nature can teach us some things about God and we should study it for his glory, but it’s not the Bible. Only God’s Word provides an objective starting point for all our thinking. Dig Deeper Is Nature the 67th Book of the Bible? What Can We Learn about God from Creation?…
This is Ken Ham, inviting you to Kentucky to see the life-size Noah’s Ark at Ark Encounter . Some Christians view nature as the “67th book of the Bible,” putting creation on the same level as God’s Word. Now they say this partly because they believe the fossil record is millions of years old. And since the fossil record is part of nature, which they say is the 67th book, they say God’s revelation tells us the Earth is very old. Well, God’s Word tells us creation groans from sin. You can’t claim a fallen creation is on the same level as the perfect, infallible Word of God! The Bible makes it clear that the universe is only thousands of years old, and that death and fossils came after sin. Dig Deeper Is Nature the 67th Book of the Bible? Was Creation Changed by Adam’s Sin?…
This is Ken Ham, encouraging the church to stand boldly on the authority of God’s Word. Genesis tells us that God “created them male and female.” This clashes with the secular view that’s popular today, that gender is just something society has created and if you don’t feel that you fit that gender you can switch. But we didn’t invent gender—God did. Now in our sin-cursed world many people do struggle with identity. But this doesn’t mean we should encourage people to reject who God created them to be and embrace sinful behavior. We need to direct them to God’s Word and the gospel. Freedom isn’t found in embracing sinful behaviors. It comes from being forgiven and freed from the power of sin by Jesus. Dig Deeper Male and Female in His Image Does Genesis 1:27 Mean That God Originally Created Adam with Both Genders?…
This is Ken Ham, author of the updated classic The Lie: Evolution/Millions of Years . Last year scientists observed something surprising: packs of Ethiopian wolves licking nectar from red hot poker flowers. This is the first time a large meat-eating predator has been observed eating nectar. It might even make them the largest pollinators! This observation is a reminder of a time when everything was vegetarian. You see, Genesis tells us that, at the beginning, everything ate plants. It wasn’t until after sin entered God’s creation that animals started eating each other. These wolves are a reminder of a lost world. But also that someday, when Jesus returns, he’s going to restore his creation. Dig Deeper Wolves Observed Feeding on . . . Nectar? No Taste for Meat?…
This is Ken Ham, editor of the multi award-winning creation magazine Answers . Many Christians have accepted millions of years and try and squeeze them into Genesis. But what they’re doing is mixing a pagan religion with God’s Word! You see, the millions of years don’t come from the rock layers. They originally came from men who rejected the truth of God’s Word. Without the flood of Noah’s day they needed a different way to explain earth’s history. Millions of years of slow processes was the result. Today millions of years and evolution are used as an excuse for not needing a Creator. They’re nothing more than elements of a pagan religion! Christians can’t mix God’s Word with man’s sinful ideas. Dig Deeper No Slow and Gradual Erosion Dealing with Skeptics…
This is Ken Ham, president and CEO of the apologetics ministry of Answers in Genesis . The signs at Grand Canyon will tell you it’s millions of years old, carved out slowly by the Colorado River. It’s considered a classic example of long ages and slow processes. But consider this: if those famous layers were laid down slowly over millions of years there should be gradual erosion between the layers. But there isn’t! We also wouldn’t expect to see multiple layers bent together. The old, dry layers should’ve cracked while the young, wet layers were bent. But multiple layers are bent together! They weren’t laid down slowly over a long time. The geological evidence doesn’t support long ages for earth’s history. Dig Deeper Folded Rock Layers The Grand Canyon Was Formed Rapidly…

This is Ken Ham, inviting you to come to Northern Kentucky to see the Ark Encounter . Yesterday we learned that long ages for earth’s history didn’t come from the rocks themselves but from scientists who rejected God’s Word and made assumptions about the rocks. But hasn’t radiometric dating proved the millions of years? Well, this dating method is founded on assumptions that can’t be proven and appear to be, well, false! Take, for example, Mount St. Helens in Washington state. It was dated to between half a million and nearly three million years old. But the rocks of Mount St. Helens were formed just forty-five years ago when the volcano erupted! Radiometric dating doesn’t confirm an old earth. Dig Deeper Does Radiometric Dating Prove the Earth Is Old? Why Is Mount St. Helens Important to the Origins Controversy?…
