God is glorified not only by His glories being seen, but by its being rejoiced in.
-Jonathan Edwards

Last week we looked at Revelation 1:7-8.We got a bit of a glimpse about how he feels and does things when we are talking about his return. I found that it is through years of meditating and thinking on these things that help get me to the place where I can begin to believe them. It’s so far out of our normal experience to think of a man riding on clouds. It’s fascinating for sure…which is one of the reasons why doing this exercise and declaring the truths of these things even in list form can be such a powerful too.

Todays Passage:

I, John, your brother and partner in the tribulation and the kingdom and the patient endurance that are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet saying, “Write what you see in a book and send it to the seven churches, to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea.” Revelation 1:9-11

1) He has patient endurance (and for us to have it, it's only found in his person)

2) He allows his people to be persecuted and emprisoned on His account

(John was on Patmos on the account of God’s word) Which leads us into the third and fourth on the list:

3) His Word is offensive to many.

4) The testimony of Jesus in our lives is offensive to many.

5) He allows us to enter into something called “The spirit” (John said, “I was in the Spirit", some may say its the “heavenly realm”)

6) He is behind us “And I heard behind me”

7) He speaks

8) He has a loud voice (We will learn that he uses many different voices)

9) He actually told people what to write down. (The connotations of this: The word is God Breathed. He inspires us to write. He makes us messengers. You cold probably put those things down on the list separately but, I’ll keep it as #9)

10) He wanted it written for the seven churches (which means, He actually cares and has instructions for His church)

11) God isn’t vague (He tells Him which churches.)

Declarations:
