What if one creative idea and some scrappy Instagram posts were all you needed to build a 6-figure brand?

That’s exactly how Kelsey Garlock launched her company—without paid ads, a big team, or a fancy funnel. She turned a personal challenge into a purpose-driven business, all powered by organic content and a deep understanding of her customer.

Kelsey is a mom of three girls and the founder of Movemama Apparel, which provides women with stylish and functional clothes to support them through motherhood and beyond.

The company was inspired by Kelsey’s own breastfeeding challenges when she found herself constantly undressing, feeling cold and exposed, and frustrated with covers that didn’t work. That’s when she had the idea of a 2-directional invisible zipper sweatshirt to make life a bit easier for breastfeeding moms. They now have a whole clothing line, including dresses, tops and bottoms, and swimwear—all thoughtfully designed for comfort, confidence, and longevity.

Click play to learn:

  • The organic social media strategy that launched Kelsey’s business during the pandemic
  • Why she doesn’t recommend relying on Instagram alone—and how you can start to diversify your marketing beyond social media
  • The importance of truly knowing your audience and speaking to their needs
  • How to share your authentic story without giving away personal details
  • The exact moment you should start outsourcing in your business (hint: earlier than you think!)
  • What no one tells you about the transition from solopreneur to managing a team
