In this episode, Anthony Matarazzo and Lilia Sanchez host fourth year PhD students Khushboo Rastogi and Aravindh Nagarajan to discuss their experiences as international students in the Texas A&M Genetics program.
Khushboo received her B.S. from Tamil Agricultural University in India and her M.S. from Seoul National University in South Korea. She now studies rice genetic diversity and biofortification in Dr. Endang Septiningsih’s lab. Aravindh attended Anna University in India for his B.S. before coming to Texas A&M for his M.S. in Biotechnology. His current research in Dr. Helene Andrews-Polymenis’ lab investigates the genetic basis underlying differential outcomes to bacterial infections. Tune in to hear Khushboo and Aravindh’s take on culture shock, the Texas A&M experience, and challenges facing international students. They also share advice for other international students considering studying abroad.
