Right now, the maximum human lifespan is 122 years. Experts base that lifespan on the longest-lived person with a verifiable date of birth. However, the average lifespans are very much different, with Australia’s being a bit over 83 years. And this statistic doesn’t even account for years of debilitating illness that may have been prevalent leading up to death. Why are we falling so short of our maximum biological potential?
