In this episode we dig into:

  • What actually happens when you stop living in survival mode and your nervous system finally chills the fuck out? Spoiler: it’s weirder than you think.

  • Having time doesn’t mean you magically know how to enjoy it. Sometimes the pause feels like a loss you didn’t see coming.

  • The very real tension between finally having space to create and just wanting to nap, zone out, or do absolutely nothing.

  • Your brain isn’t reacting to the moment, it’s predicting based on old chaos and current circumstances which means sometimes you kinda short-circuit.

  • Being regulated doesn’t mean life is easier right away. Sometimes it just means you’re awake enough to see what’s really going on.

  • Navigating art, chronic illness, parenting, and business in a house where everyone’s got complex life stuff... it’s not cute, it’s logistics and emotion every damn day.

  • Some of what feels "true" is actually just what you’ve been surrounded by your whole life. When you question it, a whole new world opens up.

  • The hardest part of starting something isn’t always the work, it’s believing you’ll be able to keep going, especially when you have a pile of complex life circumstances

  • If your environment feels like too much, it’s not because you’re weak. It’s because your body is telling the truth about what’s happening around you.

  • A behind-the-scenes look at how Brandon and I have restructured our life and business to actually feel like us, without making each other fit into someone else’s idea of partnership.

  • Two very different relationships to work, rest, and passion, and how we’re finally letting both be valid and valuable.
