Hour 1 Steve Somers left behind a used cough drop, tobacco, and a chewed fingernail in the studio. The Knicks play game 1 in Detroit tonight, and while Gio is pessimistic about their chances against a team nobody predicts them to beat, he acknowledges that sports miracles happen. Jerry's first update includes Jalen Brunson on the Knicks' keys to victory and Karl-Anthony Towns' insights from playing them this season. Indiana won game one in Cleveland. The Mets lost both games of yesterday's doubleheader to the Cardinals, and the Yankees dropped their second straight series to the Rays. Jerry recapped the wild double-OT Blues/Jets game. Scottie Scheffler dominated the Byron Nelson. Boomer finished the hour discussing the Five Borough Bike Tour, where he biked 40 miles in 2 hours and 32 minutes yesterday. Hour 2 Jordan Davis, in town for Kelly Ripa's show, called in to assure they weren't being ditched. Phil Simms said on a podcast he'd give number eleven to Abdul Carter, but his family and agent declined, a situation Boomer blames on the Giants for not protecting retired numbers. Jerry's update begins with Moose celebrating the Kentucky Derby win. Jerry then played audio of Tommy Lugauer walking off his show after arguing with Shaun Morash about Jalen Brunson. The hour concluded with Quinn Ewers' agent's anger over his draft slide, prompting Boomer to contrast his situation with Shedeur's. Hour 3 We announced our Kickoff To Summer at D’Jais in Belmar with a Chris Lane concert. Tonight is game one of Knicks/Celtics, and a caller predicted Villanova grit. They took more excited calls from Knicks fans and wondered where Al would take them to dinner. Boomer playfully called Pritchard a "sonofabitch" in a positive way. Jerry's update included Mike Tirico leaving the Kentucky Derby coverage due to a nut allergy, the Yankees losing another series to the Rays, Cody Bellinger's 200th HR, the Mets' doubleheader loss in St. Louis, SNL's jab at Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson, and Kenny Albert's call of the Jets' double-OT win against the Blues. The hour ended with calls from Knicks fans, one questioning why the Knicks aren't being given a chance. Hour 4 We discussed potential free agency, including Giannis, and the Knicks' future despite their ongoing playoff run, noting their zero wins against the Celtics this year. A caller shared a story about Marc Malusis driving off with the gas pump still attached, prompting similar stories from other callers. Jerry's update previewed Knicks/Celtics, shared Derek Jeter's commencement speech about the necessity of failure, Jesse Winker's oblique injury, and Brett Baty's sore toe. The Moment of the Day was Jordan Davis calling in to joke around. The show concluded with more discussion about the Knicks needing to steal game one in Boston.
