In this episode of Building a Clear, Authentic Brand, I’m diving into what meaningful work really is, why it matters, and what happens when we don’t have it. For a long time, I believed work and calling were separate — that ministry or purpose belonged at church while a 9–5 job was just how we paid the bills. But over the years, I’ve discovered that’s not true. Work is part of our calling, and when it’s aligned with our gifts, passions, and personality, it becomes life-giving instead of draining.

I share my own journey of working jobs that left me unmotivated and disconnected, and how discovering my unique design and strengths completely shifted my experience of work.

When we align our work with our God-given design, we thrive, we develop, and we make a real impact. And as leaders, we have a responsibility to help our teams find that same alignment so they can flourish in their roles and contribute meaningfully.

What You’ll Learn in This Episode:

  • What meaningful work is (and what it isn’t)
  • Why work is connected to purpose, calling, and stewardship
  • The myth of separating ministry and work
  • How the SHAPE framework helps identify your unique design
  • Why personality, experiences, and gifting shape how we thrive at work
  • Signs you (or your team) are in the wrong role — apathy, disengagement, confusion
  • How leaders can help employees discover meaningful work
