In this sermon on Joshua 5, we delve into the concept of God's conquest and its true meaning. Far from a mere military campaign, we discover that God's conquest is about cleansing the land for His holy presence. The passage reminds us that judgment is universal - for both the Israelites and the Canaanites - but God's mercy provides a covering. Just as the Passover lamb's blood protected the Israelites in Egypt, we see how this foreshadows Christ as our ultimate covering. This message challenges us to examine our own lives: Are we truly under God's covering? Are we living with the humility and faith like that of Abraham? As we reflect on Joshua's encounter with the commander of the Lord's army, we're reminded that God's ways are not about taking sides, but about His holiness and our response to it. This insight invites us to approach our own challenges with a renewed perspective, seeking God's presence rather than His favoritism.
