It's feared two critical Clare infrastructure projects may never see the light of day without action in this government's term. The Ennis to Limerick rail line has been the subject of frequent closures due to flooding at Ballycar near Newmarket-On-Fergus, however a feasible drainage solution has been identified, for a cost of €16.7m. While Clare County Council has also applied for a major funding stream to commence preliminary works to reopen Crusheen Railway Station. Clare Fine Gael TD Joe Cooney says a commitment is urgently needed.
