A Morning Focus listener contacted us to highlight her concern over an out of action streetlight in Ennis that, if not repaired, she believes could lead to a serious incident. Statement from Clare County Council: “Clare County Council is engaged with its public lighting maintenance contractor to resolve lighting units which are currently in fault on the R352 Tulla Rd. between Fitzpatrick’s Shop and the access to Castle Rock Housing Estate. Following initial inspections, the lights were restored but faulted immediately after and following subsequent inspections a defective cable has been identified and shall require replacement and additional infrastructure works to restore power to the affected lights. These works have been listed as a priority and it is planned to commence necessary civils works in the immediate future.”
