On this special Earth Day episode of Cleantech Forward, Foresight VP Operations Elizabeth Thorsen interviews CEO Jeanette Jackson about how the meaning of Earth Day is changing in the face of increased pressure from climate change, how she plans to celebrate the day, and her reflections on her own journey into the cleantech sector.
Jeanette Jackson, CEO of Foresight Canada, is an experienced CEO and entrepreneur with broad experience in strategy, innovation, business development, marketing, and operations. Jeanette has led Foresight’s rapid growth, transforming a regional organization into Canada’s largest cleantech accelerator. Since 2018, under her leadership, Foresight has expanded accelerator programs, built a vibrant Industry Innovation program, and launched a sectoral approach to accelerate cleantech innovation. Jeanette is a frequent speaker, media guest, and advisor to innovators, industry, investors and government.
Elizabeth Thorsen has worked with start-up and scale-up businesses for nearly 10 years in the areas of investment and funding strategy, marketing and sales development, and growth planning. With experience in industries including digital media/ICT, CPG, finance, cleantech, and life sciences, Elizabeth specializes in working with cross-functional teams to distill complex opportunities into tangible and actionable strategic plans. She joined the Foresight team in August 2020 as Director of Development, and moved into the Director of Operations role shortly thereafter. Now, as VP Operations, she leads the MarComm, Events, Operations, and Finance teams.
