On this episode of CommonVoice, host Jamie Reilly sits down with Laura Sinko, assistant professor of nursing at Temple University, to learn more about her work promoting healing after sexual assault, intimate partner violence and other forms of gender-based violence. Trained as a nurse and health policy researcher, Dr. Sinko brings an interdisciplinary perspective to trauma-informed care. She is focused on translational research to improve lives and communities by addressing social, cultural and structural issues. She also discusses her innovative research project, MiStory, and her survivor healing platform, Our Wave.
