With a career that started at just 20 years old, Derrick rose through the ranks from patrol officer to undercover detective, working with agencies like the FBI, DEA, and Secret Service. Throughout his time in law enforcement, Derrick earned the Medal of Valor and the American Red Cross “Hero Award” for his bravery and service.
In this episode, Derrick shares how his background in law enforcement led to a successful media career, from winning Big Brother to starring in shows like Breaking Homicide and CrimeFeed, and later launching two successful podcasts and the Criminal Coffee Company. He dives into his experiences working undercover, his transition into true crime media, and his mission to raise awareness — and funds — for unsolved cases.
