A young boy goes to urgent care, he’s fallen and his knee is swollen – likely a soft tissue trauma or at worst a minor joint bleed. He’s given a brace, told to rest. At follow up, everything is as expected – until a nurse reviews his chart and sees the child has hemophilia.
