Since 1969, dozens of Indigenous women and girls have gone missing or been found murdered along Highway 16, a remote stretch of road in British Columbia known as the Highway of Tears. Despite decades of investigations, advocacy, and promises of justice, many of these cases remain unsolved—leaving families without answers and communities without closure.
