We dive into growing concerns around reliability issues with the Dexcom G7. After posting a video online that sparked nearly 1,000 comments from users reporting sensor failures, it became clear that this wasn’t an isolated problem. To explore what’s going on, I’m joined by two experts in the diabetes space: Kamil of the Nerdabetic YouTube channel, and Dr. David Ahn, a practicing endocrinologist. We discuss the recent FDA warning letter Dexcom received, reports of sensor connectivity failures and applicator issues like “goosenecking,” and whether Dexcom is facing scrutiny simply because of its popularity. Most importantly, we talk about the need for better transparency and communication with users.
