Today on Diabetes Connections Type 2:

Let's talk about diabetes distress and how to manage it. Not sure what that even means? My guest is Dr. Bill Polonksy – a diabetes psychologist – who has an incredible message around mental health and diabetes. He'll explain how addressing the real-life emotional aspects of diabetes is critical for long-term health.

He's also got a paid study you can take part it – that's around CGM, so we're going to explain a term you'll hear a lot around continuous glucose monitors – MARD.

This podcast is not intended as medical advice. If you have those kinds of questions, please contact your health care provider.

Here's the info about the study:

NEW RESEARCH OPPORTUNITY FOR ADULTS WITH TYPE 2 DIABETES. If you have type 2 diabetes, live anywhere in the U.S. and are struggling with your glucose management, the Behavioral Diabetes Institute is conducting a research study to learn how different types of glucose monitoring devices affect your thoughts and feelings about diabetes and affect glucose levels over a 3-month period. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive—at no cost!– either a new fingerstick blood glucose device or a new CGM, plus free testing supplies for the duration of the study.
