In the 1990's and early 2000's social media wasn't much, so if you wanted a product to reach its intended audience, it took a little more doing than it does now. One approach was to have a massive convention and only invite advertisers or established people to it. That way you know your product would get picked up and distributed by someone who knew what they were doing...pretty silly isn't it? Welcome to season 4 episode 133 of Digital Dissection: Pop Culture Nerdity! On this episode our hosts discuss the rise and fall of one of these biggest video game conventions of all time, E3! Be sure to download this episode to hear more about E3 and if we think conventions like this are still necessary.
