Polyhydramnios may be due to excess urine production or impaired fetal swallowing. The ACOG CO 831 states that mild, idiopathic polyhydramnios may be delivered at 39 weeks and 0 days and thereafter, but there is no specific mention regarding moderate to severe poly.
