Mohamed Ali is an Assistant professor of Anesthesia at the University of Texas. He traveled to the US after finishing an anesthesia residency in Cairo University and as he described it in the interview was "clueless" about how anything worked in the US medical system. He moved to the US with his wife and 2 kids and faced many challenges along the way. In this interview Mohamed talks about how he and his wife integrated with the American community without losing their connection with family and friends back home or losing their Arab or Islamic identity , and how their thoughts have changed over the years.
