In this episode I share some thoughts about how easy it is for comparison to breed disappointment—even when you’re comparing yourself to a previous version of ourselves. While that past self can be a motivational beacon, it can also be an unhelpful measuring stick that leads to feelings and behaviours of defeat. It's great to know where you want to head, but the critical first step is simply to start where you are. Instead of chasing a monumental goal, look for the smallest possible action or increment that moves you forward. This low-friction, attainable first step is what builds momentum, erases the fear of comparison, and most importantly, builds belief in your own progress.
