Engineers need data to make informed decisions. For example, data can be used to evaluate new engineering design options and business opportunities. But data can also be used in urgent situations during the operation of a facility. In fact, technology has evolved to the point where real-time data can be sent from a remote plant in the field back to engineers at the head office for analysis and informed decision making.
In this episode we sit down with Lisa Rong to learn about her career in the energy and resources sectors. Lisa has over fifteen years of experience working as an Industrial Systems engineer. She is currently the Principal Consultant at Sublime Solutions, a company she founded. Lisa talks about her experience as an international student, working at a start-up potash company, and the importance of data analysis. She also offers advice to young people thinking about a career in engineering.
