Still 2 weeks to go until Christmas but it definitely feels like it’s come early for Irish boxing fans. So many of our pro’s in action all around the world from Friday through to Sunday - this episode highlights all those fights. Arguably the biggest card of the weekend goes down at the Liverpool arena where Katie Taylor shares top of the bill with Conor Benn and todays guest - Chris Algieri.
There’s so many fantastic facets to the former kickboxing champion who transitioned to boxing and reached the summit when he defeated Ruslan Provodkinov to become WBO light Welterweight champion of the world.
He went on to box Manny Pacquiao, Amir Khan and this weekend he aims to rip up the script and remind the world he’s not done yet!
Last time we chatted with Junior Thompson we were on our way out of lockdown & he was preparing for his 3rd pro fight. He delivered a fine performance that night to go 3/0 and secure a 3 fight promotional deal with Pat Barrett’s Black Flash Promotion’s & he fights again on Saturday in his hometown of Liverpool - Grand Central.
