Small Group Questions:
1.) When you hear that over fifty per cent of the earth’s population will be killed, what is your response?
2.) The first four trumpets are judgments about the earth. What do the last three judgments deal with?
3.) The last three trumpets are the work of demons. Why would God use demons to carry out his will?
4.) John uses a lot of symbolism when he tries to explain what he is seeing in first century language. What are some examples of this?
5.) Even with the prophecy of the Book of Revelation, not everything is revealed. Why does God use mystery when dealing with mankind?
20 But the people who did not die in these plagues still refused to repent of their evil deeds and turn to God. They continued to worship demons and idols made of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood—idols that can neither see nor hear nor walk! 21 And they did not repent of their murders or their witchcraft or their sexual immorality or their thefts.
6.) Why are the people who experience these judgments for hard-hearted and still refuse to be repent and be forgiven?
7.) John mentions murder, witchcraft (literally sorcery from drug abuse), and sexual immorality (porneia). Why did he list these three areas?
8.) John ate the scroll (the book) and it was both bitter and sweet. How is God’s message both bitter and sweet at the same time?
