Life's hardest moments often leave us asking the most difficult questions: Why is this happening? Where is God in all of this? Today's devotional tackles these universal questions head-on, exploring the profound promise found in Romans 8:28 that God works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
This promise doesn't suggest our journey will be painless, but rather that God's sovereign hand is actively weaving every experience—even suffering—into His perfect plan for our lives. Through scriptural examples and practical wisdom, we discover three powerful ways God uses our suffering: to refine our faith like gold in fire, to draw us closer to Him in intimate dependence, and to prepare us for greater purpose and ministry to others.
Joseph's story serves as a powerful testament to this truth. Betrayed, enslaved, and imprisoned, he eventually declared to those who harmed him: "You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good." Like Joseph, our suffering isn't random or purposeless—it's actively being used by God to shape us and position us for His divine purposes. When pain overwhelms, we can pray honestly, look for God's faithfulness in past trials, and use our experiences to comfort others facing similar struggles.
Remember that suffering is not your story's conclusion—it's merely a chapter in God's greater narrative for your life. Whatever trial you're facing today, hold fast to the promise that God is using it to fulfill His purpose in you. Share your story of finding purpose in pain and encourage others who need this hope today.
