"Discover the heartbreaking reality of narcissistic abuse and its devastating impact on families, as Ali Kessler shares her powerful story of loss and advocacy."
In this emotional and eye-opening episode of Fake Love and Flying Monkeys, I am joined by Ali Kessler, a passionate parent advocate, writer, and the founder of Greyson's Choice—a 501(c)(3) organisation dedicated to raising awareness about the dangers of domestic abuse on children. Ali’s life was tragically altered in 2021, when her vibrant, fearless 4.5-year-old son, Greyson, was murdered by his biological father in a murder-suicide during an unsupervised, court-approved visit. This horrifying event occurred just hours after a Broward County judge denied Ali’s petition for a domestic violence injunction, despite clear threats from the abuser.
In this raw and powerful episode, Ali discusses:
The heartbreaking consequences of narcissistic abuse and the failure of the judicial system to protect vulnerable children
How the denial of domestic violence petitions can lead to devastating consequences
Ali’s journey to founding Greyson's Choice and advocating for change
The passage of Greyson's Law, which now requires courts to consider threats against ex-partners when making child visitation and custody decisions
Ali’s story is a painful reminder of the real-world impact of domestic abuse, and how narcissistic behaviour can tear families apart. Her advocacy work has helped change legislation to protect children from abusive parents, and her unwavering commitment to justice is a beacon of hope for others affected by domestic violence.
If you or someone you know is experiencing narcissistic abuse or domestic violence, this episode offers insight, validation, and hope. Please listen and share to raise awareness and make sure no one else pays the ultimate price.
