Sharon takes a look at John 15 about the vine and the branch. God is the Gardener. Jesus is the Vine. We are the Branches. Without our attachment to Christ, we can do nothing. This passage offers wisdom and encouragement in navigating life's challenges for today's woman. The branches draw life and nutrients from the main vine. Without this connection, the branches would wither and die, and be incapable of producing any fruit. Only Jesus can produce the Fruits of the Spirit in our lives: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Gentleness, Faithfulness, and Self Control.

The wonderful thing about it is also possibly the hardest thing for us. We don't need to do anything. We just need to surrender control to Jesus. He says, "Abide in me, and I in you." By abiding in Jesus, we can rest as a beloved daughter of God, chosen and appointed to bear much fruit.

How do we abide in Christ and stop trying to do it all by ourselves? By embracing the "apart from me you can do nothing" truth, by prioritizing our relationship with Jesus over performance, by trusting in His pruning, and by leaning on His strength. Staying rooted in the vine insures us strength, rest, and fruitfulness.
