Aaron's Alley P320 / FBI drama Safety Fail: P320 Concerns The report found that the striker safety lock on the Sig Sauer P320 does not work as designed. Specifically, it indicated that the safety lock can be disabled through movement and friction, rendering it ineffective at preventing the striker from impacting a chambered round. The evaluation showed that with common movements representing those of a law enforcement officer, it is possible to disable the striker safety lock, which is supposed to be the last safety feature to prevent unintentional discharge. The report also noted issues such as wear on the sear, a ledge on the striker pin hook, and movement of the slide and components during testing, all of which could contribute to the risk of uncommanded firing. Overall, the findings suggest that the safety mechanism is unreliable and can be compromised, raising serious safety concerns about the firearm.
