In this episode, Kathy Galloway is in conversation with Anne Engelking Smith. Anne is a highly successful brand marketing executive who’s most recent position was eliminated after the hotel and lodging industry was hit by COVID-19. After practicing yoga for over 20 years, Anne had recently become certified as a teacher and found true inspiration in the process and teaching of the art just in time for this unexpected moment in her career.

Anne’s fork in the road moment came when she lost her job and she took that as an opportunity to clarify her wants and purpose. Even though these moments in time can be unpredictable, Anne says they can also be exactly what is needed to force a pause and reflection in your life. In this episode, Anne talks about how she found her path forward by clarifying her values and what was of most importance: self-expression, creativity, and excellence.

“Make sure when you come home at the end of the day, the time you spent away from your family was absolutely 100% worth it.”
