Secretary of State Anthony Blinken went to China, where he assumed a submissive posture and was granted an “audience” with Chinese President and CCP General Secretary Xi Jinping. Blinken’s trip telegraphed weakness. The ill-advised trip, Blinken’s shocking assurance that the United States does not support Taiwanese independence, and the general weakness of the Biden Administration’s China policy make war between the U.S. and Communist China much more likely.
