In this interview, Dr. Woeller speaks with Pejman Kitiraei, DO about the problems associated with mold and mycotoxin exposure seen in special needs children, including those with autism. Dr. Kitiraei is an integrative medicine pediatrician with years of experience working with individuals on the autism-spectrum. He provides a different viewpoint of the mold and mycotoxin exposure problem and introduces a concept of “dampness” as it relates to these environmental exposure hazards and the often-seen microbial volatile organic compounds that drive inflammation and immune dysfunction.
