The Shangri-La Dialogue, Asia's premier defense summit, is wrapping up in Singapore on 1 June. Organized by the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies, it's held every year in Singapore 2002 and is an open, and neutral platform for exchanging perspectives on defense and security issues in the Asia-Pacific region.

On the Saturday Sit-Down Conversation on MoneyFM89.3 host Glenn van Zutphen and co-host Neil Humphreys talk with Abraham Denmark, Partner at The Asia Group. Hey co-leads the Defense & National Security Practice and is a leading specialist in the security and geopolitical dynamics of the Indo-Pacific and US strategy towards the region. The 22nd Dialogue this year saw French President Emmanuel Macron give the keynote speech - the first time a European leader has done so. Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim also addressed the gathering. US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth told the region's leaders it was time to choose between Washington and Beijing. While China did not send its defense minister this year, It did send a People’s Liberation Army National Defence University delegation.
