Welcome to the Green Stock News brief for Thursday June 5th. Here are today’s top headlines:

Graphite One (OTC: GPHOF) has entered into a second supply agreement to provide natural graphite anode active materials for future electric vehicles to Lucid Motors (NASDAQ: LCID) and their battery cell providers. This agreement builds on a previous July 2024 agreement involving synthetic materials. Both deals support Graphite One’s plan to establish a full U.S.-based supply chain for advanced graphite materials.

Ballard Power Systems (NASDAQ: BLDP) has signed a supply agreement with Sierra Northern Railway to deliver 1.5 MW of fuel cell engines in 2025 for the conversion of three diesel locomotives to hydrogen-powered, zero-emission models. The 12 FCmove engines are engineered for heavy-duty use, offering efficient, durable, and catenary-free clean power.

Cipher Mining (NASDAQ: CIFR) produced 179 BTC in May, sold 64, and held 966, while making significant progress at its Black Pearl site, which remains on track for energization in June. With the Phase I building nearly complete and all mining rigs purchased, Cipher expects to boost its hashrate capacity from ~13.5 to ~23.1 upon full deployment in early July.

Electra Battery Materials (NASDAQ: ELBM) has completed a Class 3 Engineering Study for a modular battery recycling facility, aiming to recover key metals from battery scrap and end-of-life batteries using its proprietary hydrometallurgical process. Backed in part by Natural Resources Canada, the next phase will test the process under continuous conditions to simulate commercial-scale operations.
